at some point you actually cross a threshold accepting that you are a dork. but you're so in love with it, that it doesn't matter. I think that's when you know that this is what you should be doing with your life. When you don't give a shit what people think and you're actually excited at thought of it.
and working with an artist that takes what you think up in your head and shows you something that makes your vision turn into some tiny crayon drawing with stick figures is one of the best feelings on earth. as a writer i feel really in control of my world and my characters, but working with a good artist makes you realize how much detail you're really missing in that world. Seeing it world develop and come to life is an amazing feeling.
